About MOKSACVPR
Founded in 1988, the Missouri/Kansas Association for Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (MOKSACVPR) is a diverse professional organization for multidisciplinary health care providers who provide rehabilitation programs for persons with cardiac and pulmonary disease.
The organization is dedicated to the continued improvement of clinical practice and risk factor management, promotion of scientific research and dissemination of knowledge and education for the benefit of health care professionals and private and public sectors.
MOKSACVPR is an affiliate of the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). For more information on AACVPR visit www.aacvpr.org.
MOKSACVPR was the recipient of the 2011 American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Outstanding Affiliate Award.
Objectives of the Organization
The Objectives of MOKSACVPR are:
- Promoting excellence in delivery of Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation programming that meets the highest quality of current evidence-based standards and guidelines.
- Providing superior continuing education opportunities for Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation professionals.
- Representing Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation interests at the local, state, regional, and national level.
- Providing networking opportunities for healthcare professionals working in Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
- Providing relevant and valuable information and resources specific to Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation services.
- Facilitating communication among healthcare professionals working in Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
- To support the efforts of the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR) and other organizations having professional interests similar to that of MOKSACVPR.
- Partnering with other like-minded healthcare and professional organizations in promotion of Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
- Increasing awareness of related healthcare and Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation services throughout Missouri and Kansas.

Outstanding Member Award
THE MOKSACVPR Outstanding Member Award is presented annually to a nominee whose ideas, committee work, and/or leadership have benefited the organization in a significant way. A committee, consisting of a chair (the President or President-elect), all Board members, and the last award recipient are charged with selection of each year’s recipient. The Outstanding Member Award is presented at the annual MOKSACVPR education conference. The award recipient is honored with a recognition plaque and gift of a one-year membership to the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
Eligibility criteria for the MOKSACVPR Outstanding Member Award include:
>Current member of MOKSACVPR in good standing
>MOKSACVPR member for a minimum of two years AACVPR member for minimum of one year.
>Currently active in a field related to Cardiovascular and/or Pulmonary Rehab
>Not a recipient of the award in the previous the past 3 years
