MOKSACVPR Board Meeting

October 9, 2018

Attendees:

  • Carolyn Beard, Amy Choitz, Leann Dickson, Tiffanie Holman, Loretta Thomas, Tedd Walsh, Tricia Walsh  

Proceedings:

Meeting called to order at 0700 by President Amy Choitz

September 2018 meeting minutes approved

Committee Reports:

  • Treasurer’s Report–Tricia Walsh
  • Checking:  $17,631.69, Savings:  $14,009.49
  • Set individual budget for future conference attendees
  • Education –Carolyn Beard / Tedd Walsh
  • KS CEU, ANCC credits—Leann
    • ANCC approved credits would also cover CEU’s for KS nurses
      • Would have to apply and pay for credits thru ANCC and possibly attend a workshop
    • Creighton—would they cover ANCC / KS CEU’s?
  • Spring Conference
    • Tedd is going with Julie to look at hotels next week
    • Food—Dawnie?
    • Budget—motion to keep within the 2017 budget passed unanimously
    • Attendee fee—motion to keep attendee fee the same as 2017 passed unanimously.
      • Early—member $110, non-member $140
      • Regular—member $ 140, non-member $170
      • Late—member $170, non-member $200
    • Speakers—Tedd sent survey on speakers and topics.  Please submit your answers.
      • Current ranking:  
        • Speakers—Snizhana Weber, Karen Lui, and Steven Keteyian
        • Topics—Program Certification, PAD, and Million Hearts / Pulmonary guidelines
    • Vendors—Loretta and Leann are contacting past vendors.  
      • Save the Dates with vendor agreements have been sent.
      • Tricia is working on W9
  • Communications/Website – Amy Choitz / Loretta Thomas
    • Tricia and Loretta will meet this week to train Loretta on Constant Contact
  • Website
    • Amy is working on updating website with conference information / vendors
      • Leann will send Amy vendor logo when contract received

  • Standards & Issues – Leann Dickson / Debbie Dorshorst
    • Meeting was held at National—no update at this time
    • Day of the Hill will focus on new programs and reimbursement of those programs
  • Nominations—Tricia Walsh
    • Upcoming positions

      • MO member at large—Sandy Abbott to continue
  • Certification – Carolyn Beard

Old Business:

  • Bylaws
  • Motion made to adopt AACVPR’s statement of membership admission, resignation, and termination to MOKS bylaws passed unanimously.  
  • “Admission, Resignation, Termination.  Admission to membership is according to procedures approved by the Board of Directors and continues for as long as the member meets eligibility, dues and other membership requirements and until resignation or termination.  A member may resign upon notice to the Association. A member may be terminated for non-payment of dues or discontinuation of eligibility upon notice to the member; a member may be terminated for other reasons by the Board of Directors following 20 days written notice to the member and the member’s opportunity to respond.”
